Overview

Kapi’olani Community College is the site of the Kapi‘olani Deaf Center, the only deaf-related center in the University of Hawai’i system. The Deaf Center encompasses the following programs and services: academic support services for deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind students including counseling services from an Academic Counselor who is fluent in American Sign Language, the Deaf Education Paraeducator Program—part of the Center on Responsive Education, and the Gallaudet University Regional Center providing outreach to deaf individuals, their families, and professionals with whom they work.
